Lady M Dance Troupe was founded by Maryssa Beckford, after the completion of her degree, BA Visual Arts, at the University of the West Indies. While at the UWI, she also founded the UWI Dance Club and was its President and Head Choreographer for three years. During this period, Maryssa successfully put on two concerts, ‘HUMAN’ and ‘In A World Like This’, before departing to finish her studies.
Dance has always been a passion for Maryssa, and she has been able to take her love of the arts and share it with others. She believes dance can be great for anyone trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it builds self-confidence and self-esteem and can better one’s social skills. This is important for the development of our kids of today.
